We are counting down the days until this years Wadsley Festival!
With the same format as previous years, but with a few more surprises make sure you keep the first weekend in June free to join in with family fun and experience’s you will never forget.
The festival will be opened on the Friday afternoon with maddhatters tea party, hosted by Wadsley party professionals Hullabaloobell parties. Expect a lot of fun and of course a dash of madness!
The folk concert will be taking place again on the Friday night with a pea and pie supper, get your tickets quick at just £8 for a folky evening with friends before they all run out as this is always a very popular night.
The Saturday day programme will be opened by Robin Garside Folk songs performed by Bob Chiswick and David Atkinson. Monologues from John Bartley and poetry by Ryan Murphy.
Later on in the morning Kinder will be hosting a fabulous Bollywood work shop, Adam Kay and Katie Watson will be singing followed by Jess Barlow performing her chart single ‘Someone else’s War’. Radicato have a stunningly beautiful ballet prepared for us as well as the uniformed groups getting involved with their performances. Tony Jorden will also be taking everyone who wishes round his famous graveyard tour.
Throughout the day will be on going workshops such a Raku firing demonstrations by Zandra, free children’s activities, face painting and henna.
An art exhibition filled with work from extremely talented Sheffield Artists will take place throughout the church building as previous years.
I’m personally very excited about Michael Borkowsky’s perfume as practice as he will be bringing his collection of unusual scents for everyone to experience with each individual perfume having its own uniquely designed bottle.
On Saturday evening, we are hosting our sophisticated Jazz evening. A great opportunity to dress up, relax with friends and listen to some fabulous live music by the Three Sleepless Knights. For just £10 a ticket which includes a 3 course meal, this is defiantly an evening not to be missed!
On Sunday after the church service, Escafeld Mediaeval Society will be taking us back in time with their exciting mediaeval re enactment and the stunning Eva Millauer will be performing some interpretive dance before the photography competition winners are announced with a presentation at 2:30pm.
